Mies Society Board Chair Edward Polich (ARCH. ’79) was accepted into the Visiting Artists & Visiting Scholars (VAVS) Program at the American Academy in Rome. Polich spent time this spring researching elements of the Mercati di Traiano, a second century building thought to have been designed by Apollodorus of Damascus in conjunction with the Forum of Trajan in 102–107 CE. He recently resided at the Villa Chiaraviglio adjacent to the (main) building by McKim, Mead and White. Knowing Polich's passion for the subject, this was truly a fruitful endeavor. Congratulazioni, Ed!
