The Mies van der Rohe Society at Illinois Institute of Technology is proud to host Emmy nominated Choreographer, Venetia Stifler, Ph.D, professor emerita, Northeastern Illinois University, and her company Concert Dance, as their Artist in Residence in 2022.

One of Mies van der Rohe last works, the Neue Nationalgalerie in Berlin, re-opened on August 21, 2021, after a six-year rehabilitation by David Chipperfield Architects. The Neue Nationalgalerie was Dirk Lohan’s, Mies’ grandson, first construction management project.

The Mies Society hosted a conversation between Artist Barbara Kasten (Bortolami, New York) and curator Alex Klein on July 22. Kasten was in residence at S.R. Crown Hall at the IIT College of Architecture throughout the month of July. Barbara looked at Crown Hall through yet another lens this month for the Architecture Artist Residency inaugural annual program at IIT.
